Greetings from Rainsville Alabama! I'm here this week with a great group from Darien, Conecticut and we are continuing the work on Miss Carrol's house! This has proved to be a great project to be a part of. THe group has been handleing two main tasks, one is removing a run-down older house from the yard, and the other is laying the block foundation for her new home.
Its been great to see the team all working together and how their positive attitudes and love for each other, along with the love they are putting into their work, has been having an impact on Miss Carrol and others at the job site. Below is a video with some clips of whats been going on these first two days o the project. Be praying for continued opportunities to share Christs love as we go about accomplishing these work projects. One of the things that God's been pressing on me this last week in my time with him is 1 Peter 3:15 "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" – I think oftentimes we forget about the amazing impact we have on others by gently living out the hope we have in Christ and being ready to share. We don't always have to be doing some intentional huge marketed strategized outreach event to share Christ with someone. Whiie we are on a work project getting dirty and sweaty, if we live out hope, God can use that just as mightily to open up hearts to the gospel. There are days when God calls us to simply live in a way that causes others to ask, and be ready and willing to respond to their questioning heart when the time comes. We've got what so many others spend a lifetime searching for.
Live hope, others will see it, when opportunity comes, be ready!
