Before the trip began, Jamie from California asked me if she could bring her sewing machine.  She is a fashion designer and seamstress.   I was told we would need work gloves, and expect mostly manual labor.  But I also know that God uses the gifts He gives His people~ so I told Jamie to bring it and see what God had planned.  2 nights before the trip's conclusion, a group of ladies were asking Debbie about her wedding plans.  They asked about the wedding dress, and Debbie said she didn't have one yet.  Jamie caught that- and saw right then why she brought her sewing machine all the way from California.  She would make Debbie's wedding dress.
The last day of the trip Jamie took Debbie shopping for fabric.  Cody went along as the human GPS.  Jamie took Debbies measurements at the work site, and then went back to the church to start making the dress.  The project was completed before nightfall, and Debbie tried on the dress.  She shared that she had tried on some dresses, but they didn't feel right.  This dres, Debbie said, felt like it was made with LOVE.  There was JOY in it.  All the girls on the team gathered round, and admired Debbie and the one of a kind, made just for her, wedding dress.  A September wedding is planned, and some team members hope to attend.  I can post a picture of Debbie in the dress after the wedding- that way her future husband John won't see her in it!
Jamie, thank you for using your gifts to bless this family!
