Well it's been another awesome week here in Alabama and a youth group from Epic Church in Pennsylvania just left. They did some amazing things this week. They worked so hard clearing some trees from a house who's owner is Miss Claudine. For a group never really doing much of physical labor at all in their life this debris clearing really pushed them. They were able to grow so much from just the physical aspect of the trip but they didn't expect to grow so much spiritually from it. When we did debrief around the camp fire each night, it was quick to realize that God was speaking to each person in a specific way. Fears were conquered and dreams revived. I hope the fire that God distilled in them hear spreads into a forest fire. Here is the words of two of the students:
Andre – Hey I’m not an expert on blogging but I’m here in Alabama and it’s an amazing feeling to be here with so many people so receptive of God’s spirit and what He’s saying. I love being out here on such a God ordained mission because I feel as if there hasn’t been a moment when I didn’t feel God’s hand on me. I wouldn’t hesitate to do this again.
Tami – Alabama has been so much more than I thought it would be and I love it. I have become so close to God and my youth group it has been awesome. Helping and praying for people has really made me want to do more and take this back to Pennsylvania. I feel like this is what I want to do. These are some amazing people here and I am so glad that I met them. The extreme night hike really challenged me to trust in God and it showed me that no matter how hard or extreme a situation it if you put your trust in God anything is possible.
