We started this day going to the family that God showed a team yesterday. We gathered round them (yes, all 35 of us!) and prayed for them. They were overwhelmed that so many had come to help them.
We headed on over to their property. They have 7 acres that were right in the path of the F5 tornado. Their mobile home was destroyed. We found pieces of it scattered about their property, most pieces not much bigger than a car door. We made piles of wood to burn later, piles of metal, and bagged up pieces of their lives that were scattered about. There was little to keep. The bagged trash had to be transported to the end of their long driveway. A van was filled numerous times to get it in place for the big machines to come pick it up.
A lawn mower was worked on and used to mow down the tall grass that used to be a yard. Piles of debris were removed. It was being transformed before our eyes. Through the day, a line from a song called "hosanna" went through my mind- "broken lives are made new". And so we saw this happening before our eyes. They went from being hopeless to having hope!
The family is coming to have dinner with us tonight, and will join us tomorrow for the church service here at Destiny church.
The team members have much to say of their experiences and we have lots of pictures to add to this blog.
I pray you can experience some of how amazing this all is- how great and awesome is our God! We are experiencing amazingly abundantly more than we ask or imagine! Eph. 3:20
Praise God!!
