Tuesday my team spent some extra time learning about and practicing listening prayer.  We were waiting on the Lord for direction for the day, and the next days of the trip.  We had options- but none of them had enough details to move forward on.  We did go to see Miss Carol's place.  They had heard Kelli Gardner's story of how a step of faith for Kelli led her to deliver a basket of blessings to Miss Carol.  This story can be read earlier in the Alabama blog.  On our way out to Miss Carol's, we stopped to see an area that had been hit by the tornado.  Seeing it in person touches hearts.
Next we went to the site of the Huddle House.  We stood on the remaining tiles and experienced what you can't see in books.  This was a real place, with real people in it when the tornado struck.
We crossed the street to the memorial.  We saw Hannah Goins name on the monument.  In August a team ministered to her family.

We lingered at the memorial, as the reality of it all settled in.

After lunch, we still didn't know what we would do.  So we gathered back in a prayer group and asked for direction again.  I sensed God saying to take a step in the one area we had direction in- to go assess what was needed to complete a job at Sandra's house.  A group of fella's acted on that.  As they were on their way out, God started putting the other pieces together.  A text came, we indeed had a dump truck to haul away debri from Miss Carol's property on Wednesday.  There was another family that wanted us to come and see if we could help them.  We now had their address and phone number.  Jacqui came in and let the team know she had a tote with some vbs supplies in it- if anyone was interested.  The girls on the team were very inspired- they started looking at it, and knew it was the thing to do.  They began planning for a one time vbs at DCI, from 2-4pm on Thursday.  A craft project was in the tote.  They got to work preparing the craft and working it into a theme.  Surely God was blessing that first step taken after we prayed.

Today we practiced waiting on the Lord and found it to be challening.  We are used to having a list of things to do.  That's our normal.  Our comfort zone.  Waiting for God to direct us, waiting to hear from Him- that was out of our comfort zone.  It was exciting to hear from Him and know His plan for our remaining days of ministry.
